French Onion Soup
Ingredients
- 500g onions
- 2 tbsp neutral oil
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt
- Pepper
- 500ml strong vegetable broth
- 25g butter
- 4 slices white bread
Instructions
- Peel and thinly slice the onions.
- Cut the bread into small cubes.
- Heat the oil in a large pot and sauté the onions until translucent, allowing the onion juices to release. Dust the onions with flour, season with sugar, salt, and pepper, and mix thoroughly.
- Gradually pour in the vegetable broth.
- Add the bread to the soup.
- Simmer with a slightly open lid for 15 minutes.
