How to Make (Club-)Mate Syrup 🧉 at Home

Club-Mate Syrup
A refreshing homemade Club-Mate like syrup made from yerba mate, sugar, and a hint of lemon. Perfect for mixing with sparkling water!
Ingredients
- 200g yerba mate
- 1L hot water (preferably 65–75°C)
- 150g sugar
- A few drops of lemon juice or citric acid
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Brew the yerba mate by steeping 200g in 1L of hot water at 65–75°C for 10-15 minutes.
- Strain the liquid into a pot using a kitchen towel and add 150g of sugar, stirring until dissolved.
- Add a few drops of lemon juice or citric acid and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor.
- Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature before transferring it to a bottle.
- To serve, mix 1 part syrup with 10 parts sparkling water.
